Welcome! To a short picture diary* of just over 24 hours spent in Kilkenny during the August Bank Holiday weekend. I love a good action-packed weekend as much as the next person, so it’s particularly fun when you get an extra DAY! A day that has so much novelty surrounding it, your head spins with excitement, knowing that you can do whatever you like. Precious bonus days should definitely be savoured. I won’t go into much detail about the Friday and Saturday of my long weekend happenings, as they were captured on Instagram. But to summarise; I ate, drank, saw family, great friends…and it was pretty great.

Kilkenny was a last minute affair. Despite the rain, the place was buzzing and we had a jolly old time! I’ve never known a city to have so much live music; almost every pub had something going on. I can’t imagine what it’s like this week, during the Kilkenny Arts Festival.
Kilkenny is so close to Dublin, yet I hadn’t been in over a year. It’s a great choice for a last minute trip when it comes to distance and things to do!

A long weekend well spent. Bank Holidays, you make my heart flutter.

*Sorry about some of the photos being so dark. Let’s just call them moody.
