A Friday in April was when I took these shots. I would have liked to have said that I took them during a luminous and ebullient May bank holiday weekend, but once May was cast upon us, the sun went on hiatus! In truth, I didn’t mind too much. I had a busy weekend catching up with friends and supporting my family – we had a few bumps in the road on Sat when my poor Mam broke her arm. Thankfully she’s wrapped in a cast and on the mend, tucked up with a cup of tea and her Kindle at home. All in all it wasn’t a bad weekend. In typical Irish fashion, the sun is back and shining, as I type this from my desk at the office!
Above are some images from my garden, one of my favourite places to spend time at home. Whether we’re having a barbecue with friends, building snowmen during Ireland’s freak snowstorm a few years ago, racing go karts with my sister or just lounging in the sun, I’m happy to have such a calming spot that has carved so many memories growing up.
Fun, frolicking and garden memory building aside; it’s most definitely fact that everywhere and everything look better basking in rays of glorious sunlight. Even landfills. And people who like to scowl.
Here’s hoping that the sun sticks around for a while. Have a great (short) week ahead!
