This trip home to Dublin will forever remind me of BFree. Since trying the wheat and gluten free brand’s latest delicious (and nutritious!) offering, I’ve had two slices every day for breakfast, or sometimes lunch. They’re on to a good thing, those lads and lassies at BFree.
Pure. addiction.
A quick side note: I’m yeast intolerant, my sister is gluten intolerant and has a nut allergy – so apart from a new breakfast option to replace my morning porridge, this bread was just right.
BFree’s new Oaty Loaf is quite dense, not unlike your standard soda bread. It’s also dairy free, high in fibre and tastes great (The most important part! Whether toasted or not. Also important.) something you don’t always get with gluten and wheat free alternatives. Two slices of Oaty Loaf also contains the same amount of oats as a bowl of porridge. A much nicer, lighter and more versatile alternative for Spring.
Oaty Loaf is delicious with butter and jam, fruit, nut butters, honey or as a good filling base for an avocado toast with plenty of sea salt and chilli oil. The options are endless.
Due to my intolerance and how well I get on with this bread (you’d swear it was an actual person) I wanted to share my opinion, and it’s the best wheat and gluten free bread on the market right now. I’d definitely pick up a loaf if you want something new to try, as it pretty much covers all the most common intolerances out there!
BFree also have plenty of other options to cater to everyone’s tastes – wraps, rolls, pitta breads and bagels. Available in stores and online.
BFree Oaty Loaf (€3.49) has been available in Dunnes Stores and Supervalu since March, and Tesco since April 3rd.
